Yugo Yakiniku Smokeless Grill and Restaurant
Yakiniku, meaning “grilled meat,” is a Japanese style of cooking. Some actually debate that its origin is Korean, as it is very similar to the cooking style of bulgogi. Think of it as "Japanese barbecue." It involves grilling marinated bite-sized cuts of food (beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables) over a flame of wood charcoal. Now it has evolved, using mini gas stoves, or electric grills. There are a lot of yakinikuplaces in Cebu, most are good. But Yugo claims to be the first of its kind in Cebu, as it is “smokeless.” In Yugo, there vents are on the sides of the grill. The grill is built into each table. I think they make use of electric grills. In the beginning of the meal, it was in fact, smokeless. But towards the end of the meal, the grill got hotter and hotter until eventually it got smoky. Honestly, I don’t really care. It wasn’t like I was suffocating. I’m fine as long as the food is good – and it’s UGH’mazeeehhhng!!! So maybe it’s not 100% smokeless; but lemme tell you the beauty of dining at Yugo. They have the best service. The waiters are very helpful and exceptionally attentive. They can anticipate your needs even before you ask. Ze boyfriend loves to eat yakinikubut hates the thought of paying to cook your own food. This is why Yugo is our favorite yakinikurestaurant. The waiters help you carry your plates from the buffet and help grill your food!
Yugo is a buffet, so it’s only all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink. There’s Japanese, Chinese, Korean dishes and dessert. That’s why it’s P500 a pop. Don’t worry it’s SO WORTH IT!!! It’s like having an all-you-can-eat buffet from your favorite Asian restaurants – all in one place! Sushi all you want! Yakinikuall you want! And unlike in other restaurants, you’re not limited to just pork or just beef, you can have both, and there’s chicken and seafood! So you really get your money’s worth. There’s also a great selection of sauces you can pick and choose from or mix as you like. It’s so fun!
